HyperDrive ColorSpace

I posted this under the wrong topic heading so I'm posting it here(Computers & Peripherals) were it belongs.

After contemplating whether or not to bring my laptop on a trip, I decided I didn't want to do any editing away from home, but felt I should bring along something to off load cards to. After doing some research, I decided on the HyperDrive. I know a few of you have this and wondered how you configured it. I just received the it for an upcoming trip and it offers something that I hadn't thought about, that being the ability to partioned the hard drive. For those that have a HyperDrive, has anyone done this and if so, what were your reasons?

I haven't used it but I can think of a couple of reasons.

Partition it down to your backup size.  Just for ease.
Protection against a power hit hosing a partition.

I'd just buy two of them.
