Capture One 4.6 release

CO 4.6/Pro/DB has been released.

Release notes highlights:
- New/improved raw file support for Phase One P 65+, Canon EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 50D (incl sRaw1 and sRaw2), Canon PowerShot G10,Nikon D3X, Olympus E-30
- Tethered support (DB/PRO resp.) for P65+, several Nikon dSLR cameras; no tethered support yet for EOS 5D Mk II and 50D
- Improved performance
- Abandon of Shift modifier key for operating multiple selected images; introduction of "Edit Primary Only" (toggle)
- Requires Intel Mac with OS X 10.5.5 or later

This, again, is very disappointing and departs significantly from accepted industry practises.

Credible software providers don't change the OS pre-reqs from their software between .x releases.

Intels are now 80-85% of mac usage (as measured by internet hits) and the next version of the Apple OS (due in first half of 09) will drop support for Power PC. These are only meant as reference points. If you own a Power PC based mac it's obviously disappointing.

This is not a new pre-req. 4.5 was the first pro edition of Capture One 4 and it required 10.5 and Power PC.

As far as I know 4.6 and 4.1 are two .x releases of Capture One version 4, aren't they?

I am on Intel Mac, my problem is that 4.1 supports OSX 10.4.11 while 4.6 only works on OSX 10.5.5. I am not talking about Capture One Pro here.

Wasted 3 hours last night updating my system to 10.5.6. Things work globally OK but I am already seeing display artifacts in CS4...

On the other hand, C1 4.6 works extremely well on D3x files and seems to be overall faster than 4.1.

I have 4.6 working on my dual 2g G5. Certainly a bit sluggish compared to say photoshop. It does do an exceptionally nice job on the 5D MKII files. I have an intel macbook pro I usually use to shoot with and I really do not want to have to upgrade my tower this year. I am going to try and deal with it. It is still missing some features I need when using a flex adapter. I am starting to warm up to using it with the quality of the files.

On 3Ghz Quad core intel mac. Developing file is extremely fast. Never use stop watch but at least double speed.
