switching from AFI to Large Format Camera. Sequence?

I am having trouble switching my aptus 7 from the AFI camera to the Linhof. I try to tell the back, what camera is attachaed, but i can't confirm it (the green hook). i am trying to do this with the back detached and with a battery installed. if the back is powered by FW i cant access this setting on the back, but through LC11 the back isn't recognized. what is the proper sequence to switch from AFI to Large Format and backwards?

In portsble mode i.e. on the LCD with a battery attached you need to go into Setup>Camera and then in the Camera Type menu to select "large format" and then OK (or UP).

In tethered mode in LC11 you need to go into Camera Settings and select Large Format BEFORE you connect the back

i shoot tethered 98% of times. I only use the leaf in Situations where i am in 100% control and then there is always a computer closeby. otherwise the canon comes out...

the problem i have is that when i try to change the setting on the back with a battery installed, i can choose the camera model, but i can't confirm it. I can hit the 'accept' button as much as i like, nothing happens. i can't get into the top level. the only way to get there is to press the thumb wheel, but then the setting isn't stored.

You seem to be having some sort of software-firmware mismatch there.

Please use LC 11.2.0.2 (if you haven't got it you can download it from our website and connect your back to it so it'll upload the latest firmware. It is a small update and takes about 30 seconds

I've just tried it on a back similar to yours and I am able to change camera settings from AFi to large format back and forth without an issue.

You just need to select Large Format in the camera settings list (if it's just the back that you are connecting) or AFi (if it's the camera as well and make sure the camera is ON).

i am using the standard fixed adapter, what i heard of Linhof, they are having severe problems with the sliding adapter for AFI, maybe there won't be one due to the studs coming out of the back.
