Best canvas for use with Z3100?
« on: December 01, 2008, 07:10:59 am »

It's as bad as searching for a decent paper, finding the right canvas.  I'm looking for something to print pano landscapes on and with so many to choose from I don't know where to start...

Any help would be appreciated.

We use Breathing Color's Brilliant White Canvas and love it. We believe it is the best on the market, tried and tested many as we looked for a less expensive option. Could not find one we felt was good enough for professional photographer's quality standards. They have been a terrific company to work with as well. Only complaint is that there are pressure marks from the adhesive they use to secure the canvas to the roll. The appear at about the last 5 feet or so....spaced about 5 inches apart. We find the marks objectionable and always cut the roll at this point. So a 40 ft roll is really 35 ft. Other than that the Z3100 loves this stuff.

Ditto what Dave says about the Chromata White canvas by Breathing Color.

Dave,
How does the Breathing Color canvas compare to the HP Professional Matte Canvas?  I have been using the HP canvas and have been very pleased with the results.  After reading more about the Chromata White Canvas at their site, it looks like a good product to try.  Two concerns though.  It is a heavier product than the HP so did you have any problems setting up the paper type in the printer to avoid any head strikes?  And losing the last 5 feet of canvas due to marks from the adhesive on the rolls seems like something the company would/should address.  HP does not attach its paper or canvas to the rolls so I wonder why the need to do this.
Thanks
