canon 1dsmk3 files in C1 Pro 3.7.9

I have been processing my 1 Ds Mk3 files in C1 Pro 3.7.9 and experiencing pinkish highlights where it should be blown out white highlights. I shoot backlit lifestyle outdoor alot and the 'blown out part of the sky' turns pink, in the raw file and in the processed tiff file. If I open the same raw file in Phase V4 the highlight looks fine, it also looks fine in Adobe Camera Raw. Anyone experience this? I would prefer to use C1 Pro 3.7.9 but this may force me to switch.

I can't comment on 1Ds Mark 3 files but I remember that on severely over-exposed shots (Mark 2 raw files), I also experienced a magenta or pink  highlights. The other RAW converters (ACR or Capture One 4) correct this issue.

I don't think that Capture One 3.7.x offers support for Mark 3 files so, you're right, a switch to version 4 might be inevitable.

I wasnt sure if it was my monitor ( apple cinema, calibrated with monaco optix ) or the software rendering, now I guess that it is the software's fault but would love to hear from others so I can be 100% sure of it. I have a phase back also so I definitely want to stay with phase software for both files.

I haven't yet tried Mark 3 files with the "old" version of Capture One but I understand very well that you'd like to keep the same workflow (and software) for both your DB and Canon cameras. In Capture One 3.7.x, the pink highlight issue happens when you try to recover severely blown highlights.

I was not trying to 'recover' the highlight..... it just came in that way(pink). this was with no adjustments at all, just an untouched raw file. has no one else seen this happen?

I can appreciate you wanting to resolve your "pink highlight issue" and hoping for helpful replies. The purpose of me posting the links was in response to your thread sub-title in which you indicate that you might try version 4.x. I was thinking that you and others might want to consider the recently available information regarding version 4 before trying it with Canon files.

Just to clarify, I experienced this issue only in severely over-exposed photos with Mark 2 files.

Today, I tried to open Mark 3 file with Capture One 3.7.9 Pro and my Mark 3 files are fine. As with Mark 2 files, I only get pink when I try to recover highlights using negative exposure (EC).

Anybody Know why I cannot shoot tethered to C-1 3.7.9 with Canon 1DsMII?
I have installed it 3 times now and the Capture K is greyed out!!!!!

You mean that the icon of Capture One in the Finder is greyed out? If this is the case, it usually means that the installation process was terminated before completion.

I haven't shot tethered for a while and don't have access anymore to a 1Ds2. You might want to consult the installation log of Capture One to see if something went wrong (use Console.app in your utilities folder).
