Dual Monitor Set Up
« on: October 31, 2008, 07:37:02 pm »

I'm going to be upgrading my workstation and will be using dual monitors for processing/printing my images on a P.C. What kind of video card would you recommend and also which brand of monitors would you suggest?

Dual Monitor Set Up

XP or Vista? Minefield if you want separate profiles for each monitor. If not, any good dual head graphics card will probably do the job.
Windows Xp doesn't support separate profiles for each monitor. Oh spit. I hear Vista is no better, but could be mistaken. There are 2 work-arounds for this.
1)Downloaded and install The Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet tool for Microsoft Windows XP from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en
It works fine. The only thing it won't do is allow both profiles to be "seen" by external editors. You pick your best screen and have that (and its profile) as monitor number one.
2) Solution two is hardware based:  have a motherboard that supports 2 separate graphics cards.
Best to email your chosen graphics card manufacturer before buying. They are helpful.
Cheers, David
