I have the Nikon D40. In the "touch up " menu, after a shot is made, I can change a saved image to B&W However this to me is slow and tkes up too much time for me.
Is there any way on my D40 (or any other DSLR) to set the camera to black & white right from the start? yes, yes, I know I can change over to B&W in the camera after wards or later in Photoshop, (as I am continually told whenever I ask this question elsewhere), but I am colour blind (not totally, but maybe 50% of regular colour vision - or so I am told) and I visualize my images differently in the field than somebody with full colour vision does.
So to more or less match my shooting style./needs/wants/wishes/whatever, I would love to setup my camera so it's straight B&W on the display every time I take a shot, but I just cannot figure out how to do it (even after reading the manual too. ).
thanks much
