Recovering P45 Phase files

I've just found out that a shot was trashed without being processed or saved (it was shot to a CF card).  Using Image Rescue I've tried to recover the files, so far without success.  Is there another program that I could try that will give me better results?  Thanks, Jim

If it was a Sandisk card then Sandisk's own RescuePro is quite good

Picture rescue has always recovered far better then anything else I have ever used.

I’d second YaYa’s comments regarding sandisk.

I’ve had some mixed results using Norton’s SystemWorks on my PC not too sure if it’ll work on a Mac.  Good luck

Generally, I've found that once you write over the card, your images are gone. However, I have seen stuff on there from months ago using Image Rescue and Rescue Pro. Viewing it was fine, recovering it was not. Sorry to be so pessimistic, I don't want to give you a false sense of hope. I hope that, at least, you hadn't written over the card.

Just as a general workflow note, i use 8 - 2 gig (or 4 gig) cards in rotation, numbered in order. That way if a card gets missed we can catch it within a few shots and hopefully we haven't come full circle to that card again.

I personally use Data Rescue II by Prosoft Engineering (about $99.00).  It recovered all of my images from a CF card that was not recognized by my Mac.  Just make sure that you don't try to shoot anything to the card in question until you use the recovery software.

Data Rescue !! recovered everything and was quite amazing!

Data Rescue did the trick!  Although we couldn't find the files on the card, we were able to recover the files on the drive that the files were deleted from.  It worked great!  Jim
