Wireless for Phase P+ Backs?
« on: July 07, 2008, 11:01:26 pm »

Does anyone know the status of this add on for the PhaseOne P+ backs.  When the P+ were released this was rumored and then I met with the head engineer of Phase in NYC and he showed an early version of this add to allow for WIMAX speed wireless transfer of images from the camera to an adapter attached to a laptop.    This was well over a year ago.  I have my P45+ and would love to have this option available.  It would be more than fantastic.    I imagine the answer is regulatory approval problems, but again any word?

thanks John

I don't remember all the technical details now, but from what I recall Phase was testing said device but when Apple released OS X 10.5.4 they completely rewrote some part of the code that basically made the wireless adaptor incompatible.

I haven't heard anything about it in months, so I don't know if it's still DOA, or perhaps going to be re-introduced with the new backs this fall (or at Photokina or whenever Phase finally intro's the new stuff).
