I don't get the "why" and would like to say the same: simply ignore or take it less seriously, by means that there are other (much) more important things than "pixels".

I feel you Ron.  This place is pretty banal sometimes, and puts you in a headspace where you are focused on gear and tech issues more than your photography or business. However, I do credit this forum for helping me quit smoking.  One trigger for me to smoke was waiting for a batch to run, waiting for the scanner to warm up and scan, waiting for a bunch of prints to run, etc.  Instead of smoking a read this forum.  I like the threads about people's experience working with the gear and problem solving, and I particularly enjoy the architechture work posted, and I like threads about business. I also like the reps posting, as its better than any information you can get from the MFDB makers themselves.  Now I look at this forum's pixel peeping threads, "what should I buy threads", FDBs are pretentious" threads, and other brand partisan warfare and get annoyed, but without an American Spirit in my mouth.  But for how long?

Keep it real Ron.
