The New Polaroid?
« on: May 16, 2008, 01:04:40 am »

Wasn't sure in which forum to post this, but Fujifilm has announced their 'instant film', which I'm assuming takes over from Polaroid since they announced they're getting out of the business.  A press release (.pdf) is available here.

I haven't gone to the PDF, but Fuji has been in the instant film business for a long time.  We used to use it a lot in our studio for proofing, in fact preferring it to Polaroid.  We're still using it in our passport camera.

If it's a new instant film, it's probably a new film without regard for Polaroid's perils.

Here is a link to the pack film that B&H sells, including four from Fuji and a bunch from Polaroid.  And as a matter of fact, B&H still lists a whole lot more Polaroid films than Fuji's.

I'll go to the PDF now, but thought it was worth pointing out that Fuji isn't a newcomer to the instant film world by any means.
