IDS3 Manual Exposure Mode--"specific?"
« on: May 03, 2008, 05:22:35 am »

Under custom functions, there is an option for manual exposure called "specific." Does anyone know what that does?

Is there a way to set the highlight alert for the histogram view only, and not both the histogram view and normal view? That constant blinking annoys me in full size view. But I want it in histogram view.

I had that page open when I read your message. However, I didn't ask "where" it was. but "what" it was--as in a definition of seting "0: Specific metering mode." The manual has no definition for that setting.

It's pretty clear in the manual- you should read more carefully,,, it says "specified", not "specific". Specified metering mode means the one that you specify, ie: select using the buttons, ie:any of them. The other settings lock in one of the modes.

Yes I meant specified, sorry about that. However, it does not change my question. "Specified" is a selectable option, which prompted this question.

"You can set the metering mode to be used in the manual exposure mode (PDF, pp161).

0: Specified metering mode
1. Evaluative
and so on.

LOL, I'm not seeing it. Help me!

#0 -> You can choose any metering mode with the normal procedure during manual exposure
#1 -> Camera is locked automatically to Evaluative MM immediately when you set the camera to manual exposure
#2-4 -> etc
