Just a quick link to the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) page if anyone wants to know what the world's largest sensor (all 3.2 billion pixels) is used for.

That's a great link!  I'll have to get back to it when I have more time to read all the info on that site.

30 Terabytes in one 10 hour night - Dang!  I'll never complain about my storage/backup issues again !!!!

Yup, when it comes to equipment and image quality requirements, astrophotographers put those of us with more earthly aspirations into the shade. I'm always full of admiration for many of the images they produce.

Yeah, but my 1D mark II does *way* more FPS :-)
