While news of the ZD Back's increased buffer rate is a nice upgrade, I am ever hopeful for more important news of some obviously needed corrections to the internal processing circuitry (or at least better QC in manufacturing) as there has been way too many posts here on LL about image problems such as the infamous purple blobs, etc. that continue to keep me shying away from making a purchase. Some ZD Backs are perfectly fine and evidently others are not. Maybe the new relationship with Phase One will help.
Also, are we any closer to the release of an ZD adapter plate for the 4x5 format?

My view is that anyone considering the ZD should carefully read the post I did early last month, per link above. The problem I pointed out seem to apply to ALL recent/newer ZD backs and ZD cameras.
If Mamiya is smart business wise they should correct this problem and announce they did so. So far nil. Until they tell us, or someone test the updated back with increased buffer then we can only assume that nothing is changed.
With nothing changed it is clear that the ZD has very steep limitations, such as limited to situations with good light or where lighting can be controlled, and when shot at 50 ISO and expose to right and with not much difference in light and dark. For my photography the ZD frank proved incompetent. With the great limitations it has it is my personal view that it is wrong for Mamiya to sell it on market without declaring its great limitations. For anyone who thinks I not know how to shoot a digital camera, with me spending 4,500 USD more than the ZD camera itself cost me I got me into Leaf Aptus 65 back. It is fenominal and much exceeding my expectations.
What I say of ZD applies to ZD only and not other Mamiya products. I find other Mamiya products to be exceptional good.
