FS: Phase One P45 V series
« on: March 11, 2008, 11:11:56 pm »

For sale:  Phase One digital back V series for sale.  This digital back is in perfect cosmetic and working order.  It has 22k captures on it.  The value added warranty ends in the beginning of October of this year.  Plenty of time to upgrade and switch out formats (if that is desired) and extend the warranty for 3 more years.  Please don't be afraid of the amount of captures.  This back is very well maintained and always kept in controlled environments.  This back was used as a rental by myself and was entirely in my possession for 85% of the time.  I did occasionally have a tech who works for me take it out.

The product code is unused.

I am also willing to show the back if necessary.  I am located in Southern CA.

I am offering this back at a very good price of $10,500.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments at david.westphal@gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration.

May I ask why you sold this for so little?

That price was insane!!!

On the low end 45's are selling for $17,5k it really killed my market for selling my P45.  P25's sell for $10k

I don't need it anymore and people were not willing to pay more for it.  If you are concerned about your market being killed, you should talk with people who advertise on these boards their products.  When I tried to sell it for more, the dealers would match the price and I could not sell it.  So if you are a dealer, then it's your own fault for lowballing me when I was attempting get market value for my back.

Thanks for the back up.  I once tried to sell mine for that price ($17k).  That was 8 months ago.  The dealers have f-upped the market for end user sellers.  At that price, every time I had a seller, the dealer would match making it impossible to sell.  With the refurbed backs, it was even more difficult.  So like I said before, I got the best price I could.  I think that would be a free market at it's best.  But like most everything else in this photography business, someone is always undercutting someone else...  But that's ok because what I was paid is cash in my pocket.

Not to sound bitter, oops, am I bitter?

Good for you David!

I lurched for months researching MFDB only to find out how protected dealers for these are.  A manufacturer's rep on this board would email his dealer in Singapore to send me brochures the next morning if I posted any interest in their brand.  Then when I inquired, I found their prices were much higher than in other countries.  Big disparity.
I decided to move to 1Ds MKIII and drop MFDB for now, at least until they bleed financially.

Good luck with your business David.
