Canon Wireless Transmitter w/ 1Ds Mark III

We recently had a request by one of our clients to see how the new Canon WFT-E2/E2A wireless transmitter works.  We attached it to our Canon 1Ds Mark III and this is what we found:

Since you are a Capture One pro, I wonder if you've been able to get C1Pro working with the WiFi capture?  I've been trying but without success.  (I never tried C1Pro tethered when I had my MkII's.)

And FWIW, I have had no trouble getting the WFT-E2A working on a Windows XP Pro system via external WiFi (LinkSYS) router in my networked environment.  The only difficulty I had was whenever another machine running Vista would be turned on that was also connecting to the network via that LinkSYS router.  Every time it did, my camera's connection would be lost.  So we now keep that notebook turned off when I'm using the WFT-E2A.

I'm running a couple of 1D Mark III's but only have one WFT-E2A.

What I do is set up card 1 (CF) to capture RAW images only and on card 2 (SD) I capture small JPG images.  It's the images from card 2 that get sent via WiFi so they can be viewed really quickly on the PC.  Works very well.

Tim our tech set up the test.  He says in theory that you should be able to set it up to go into C1 Pro.  You will have to use the Canon software to transfer the files wirelessly but just create a session in C1 Pro and direct the files to that folder.

how do you direct C1 to open the files imported into canon, have not been able to figure it out. thanks in advance

update: I have been trying to use my wifi adptr on my 1dsmk3 and it has been very unreliable. when it works its insanely useful but we have been constantly losing connections inbetween shots. we set the camera to not go to sleep and the computer as well, but still lose the connection, I think the problem is that there are too many other networks out there to confuse my network and then it shuts down and tries to go onto someone's wireless internet connection. its insane how many of those networks are out there, even in a small town in a small neighborhood or beach.

if anyone has some miraculous fix all I would be happy but as of right now I think I am gonna sell it.

My fix, I'm sorry to say, was to return the unit for credit. This thing is not ready for prime time. I've been doing some research and found this unit http://www.wi-pics.com/products.aspx  I have heard there could be a new version out with all the capabilities we need this year. Until then then, usb works just great.
