Have followed the E3 an alternative with interest... would like to know from those who own one if the camera can be used tethered or wireless.

Tethered control is done with the Olympus Studio software (a trial version only ships with the camera). AFAIK, Studio allows tethered control of all E system cameras, even the entry level models.
