From my visit to Taj Mahal in India the other week. I should add that this travel was first time I used the Leaf Aptus 65, together with Mamiya AFD and 55-110 zoom. It is great pleasure to use the A65. Only smart sharpening was applied, all else defaults in CS3.

Regards

Thanks for posting.  The first one seems a little too flat to me, but that might just be me.  I like the reflection in the second one but the mud is rather un-interesting.  How come you didn't plan a few acres of rice or something first?    The third one I think is my favourite.  There are a lot of untold stories in that face...

Sorry, nothing personal - I'm sure it's the clients dictate, but this is retouching taken far to far IMHO.
She looks like she ought to be in Madame Tussauds for god's sake!
Anyway as I say, IMHO.

Edited to Add: I just noticed your quite new - bit of a harsh welcome from me there! So a friendly welcome also    Good to have you here.

Sorry, I agree too - she looks almost alien like.

OK, so the look of her skin is not exactly natural, it's half way to heavily stylised cartoon, but if we drop our preconceptions about our own style of shooting, I hope you'd agree it's certainly eye catching.

The other thought I had... was it retouched, or original make up?

Hmm, it not really about preconceptions to be honest. It's eye catching for the wrong reasons - i.e. it just looks wrong/weird. Almost like a cgi character from a video game intro. If that was the creative intention then fine, but I somehow doubt it.
It's totally OTT.

Well That is probably the look  the client wanted..
I think the 3rd shot she kind of looks like a monkey though.. the angle of her head and her ears??
Something is going there.
The first she looks the best even though it is pretty much over retouched..:+}
Nice shots considering

Actually, I've just seen elite's pics from the same shoot on his other thread.
I much prefer them to the ones here. Still too over cooked for my taste - but they work better. Never the less, very nicely executed work.

The best part of my business involves taking studio portraits of dogs. Here are some doxies that were in my studio last week.

Did we started to critique work here or is it something aimed only at our new members?
I am just checking since there is a lot of pictures to go back to and critique if we want this topic to die quick.
I personally think that the images are overdone but not nearly as bad as some of the ones I have seen here from regular contributor who never caught any heat on that.

I agree about the quickest way to kill this great topic is to start picking apart the images.  In my head, this topic keeps out the constant droning of the "measurebators" (great word for whoever came up with it) and allows for the freedom of just putting up photos of what everybody is doing.

I personally never post any work work, nor of anything that really means that much to me to give away.  The internet being what it is and people's assumption that once you see it on the internet, it's up for grabs.

I agree if I am reading some of you correctly. There is nothing here inviting critiques. If you have something good to say, say it, otherwise as long as it is something someone is proud of and wants to post it, I would say do so.

I have enjoyed this thread for just seeing what other people are doing and there has been some really nice work. But I sure don't want to start wading through all the armchair critic remarks.

Oh please. Don't be so precious.

Of you actually read my posts properly you'll see why yor comment is a little silly, not to mention rather snide.
I'm afraid I don't do mutual backslapping clubs - sorry.

We're mostly working pro's here -  I'm sure most of us are big & ugly enough to take some constructive critism & opinion every now and again.

Maybe it's me but I loved the shots, yes they are processed but that's possible today so why not
Some photographers are artists that take a photograph as the base and some take the shot and that's it.

Some from me from today and yesterday.

My first camera

Greetings,
Frank
