Last fall I went to Maine for a Fall Colors workshop put on by John Paul Caponigro. It was a great experience; his workshops are first-rate.

Here's a photograph I made on my way to JPs studio to meet the group.

Nat, is your site having problems?  I clicked on your www link and got your home page, but no links to any of the galleries, blog, etc.

BTW--your photo, plus others I've seen here, prompted me to check out your other work--but couldn't access it.

Diane - I've checked everything and can't see any problems... all the links work etc.... what kind of error did you get? And what web address is showing in your browser?

Any additional info might be helpful... thanks!

I find this image rather intriguing, and not because of the colours.  Even though the horizon is reasonably flat and level, the trees in the foreground or rather midground seem to be leaning to the right, as if there's a strong prevailing wind in the area... gives the image a sense of movement.

Nat, I just opened it in Firefox too--where all seems fine--background is white in IE, fonts different, no links, etc.  I took printscreens and just emailed those to you so you can see for yourself.  I'm having the problems with your site using IE7.

Hope this helps.

Diane - thanks so much for pointing out this problem. I looked at the code on the page and discovered a missing bracket; thus the style sheet wasn't loading correctly in IE. Somehow Firefox and Safari were able to render the page correctly anyway so I would have not know about the problem if you hadn't mentioned it.

I cringe to think how many IE users have visited my site in the week or so since I updated the main page, but at this point I suppose that's not worth thinking about.

Please take another look in IE and let me know if all looks OK now.

Thanks again!

Works fine in Opera, too.

I'm glad Diane pointed out the problem because it got me to check out your site. Beautiful work!

Hi Nat:

Went to your website and clicked on 'Canyon Country II' then clicked through all of the images individually.  When I got to the end I could click 'Index' to get back to the index of that folder of photos, but there was no way to get back to the home page without clicking 'Back' many times or editing the URL...  I'd like to suggest you add a 'home' button, if only to the index pages.

Mike.

P.S.  Beautiful work!

Edit:  I realized that your name banner at the top links to the home page, but in that first gallery the link is broken (at least for the last photograph):

Mike - the link back to the home page is my name/logo. I realize this is less than intuitive and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Nat:

I figured that out - what got me in the first place is that on the last photo of the first gallery (Canyon Country II), the link is broken.  It works fine from everywhere else I tried after that.

Try it yourself.  Go here:

and click on your name...

After looking at your images, I think you really didn't need to take the workshop. Your work is beautiful!

Two snaps up!!

PS: your site loaded very quickly in Safari!

Thanks framah!

Actually, I like to take workshops from top photographers at least once a year.

I've been leading workshops and teaching digital imaging classes for several years, and it's helpful to see how others do it, too.

And it's always great to meet new people; other photographers' workshops have been a great networking resource for me.

Plus it's just a whole lot of fun

And I have to say that, from what I saw, JP Caponigro's workshops are really first-rate.
