Installing PS CS2 on new computer

I'm trying to install PSCS2 on my new computer and when I input the serial number at the beginning of the installation process, I am told that I have entered it incorrectly. I've tried it several times and I'm confident I've entered it properly - both with and without the hyphens... AND I checked online with Adobe and I've got the serial number right. The next time I tried it seemed to accept it and took me to a window that had me click that I had inserted a version of PS 5.5 or higher but it couldn't find it.

I can't figure out how to get help from Adobe so any suggestions on how to move ahead on solving this greatly appreciated.

Do I have to go way back and install older versions and then update 'em with newer ones? I sure hope not!

Do you have the disk for a previous version? When it asks you to insert a disk, just insert the disk for the previous version. You obviously have the upgrade version of CS2 and it needs to read the info off the previous version to complete the install.

 You should not have to install the previous version, just let it read the disk.

I had similar issues when I upgraded to CS3. Not all upgrade options are offered on the drop-down list and some Education (packaged) versions are not (single-program) upgradable. The only way to get registration authorization when it won't go through on your computer is to call Adobe. Once my registration numbers were verified, the Adobe customer service rep gave me a special access number. Each access number worked and all my CS3 upgrades work fine.
