Weird Funky stuff with upgraded H1
« on: November 18, 2007, 07:56:02 am »

I have upgraded my H1 to a H2 a little while ago. After the upgrade I just started using it and have until today not looked into the menu structure.

Today I was toggling through it but is appears really weird. I seem to be unable to assign the desired functions to the AE-L button or User button (AF on the AE-L, etc.).

The text in the menus is weird too.

Under the Flash button it says 'Enter' (where I believe it should say exit), it works like exit.

Under the Drive button it says 'Rear' (where I believe it should say enter), it works like enter.

Below it says NO where it should say Menu.

The custom settings under 4.1 are 30 but don't make any sense to me and many alterations don't seem to do anything.

The H1 manual is totally different from what I am seeing as is the H2 manual I just downloaded.

Anyone seen this before? Is this normal? Is there anyway to hard reset the camera to factory defaults (nowhere to be found in the manual).

Or should I send it back to Hasselblad to get it fixed? (bummer is that it works besides the menu things but if it has gone wrong with upgrading to H2 I guess I should send it back because everything should work properly).

Pffff...... when I press 'menu' -> 'user button',

I get into menu 4.4 where I see ' 1/3 Step Exp Adjust' on top and when I select 'multi exposure' below with the back wheel I have AF drive on my user button

Everything seems to be on a different place

Multi Exposure is AF
Self Timer is Mirror Up

Etc....

Anyone experienced this behaviour as well?

Dustbak:

Try downgrading your firmware to a previous version, then upgrade to the current and see if that clears it up. If not, you may have an issue.

Firmware of the H body you mean Steve? (I guess you don't mean the Back I guess).

If that is the case I will give it a go.

Yes - the body. Although the process would update each anyway.

Ha!

I downloaded the combined firmware upgrade on the Hasselblad site. Downgraded the firmware after that it performed normal again! (apparently that file is a downgrade seen from 4.7 and 4.8).

Started Flexcolor 4.7.2 and had it upgrade the firmware after which the camera performed as it should again!

Not sure how this problem started. Maybe because I run 2 different versions of Flexcolor on 1 machine. I had to revert to 4.7.2 to be able to do multishot on the 384 and ran 4.8.1 with the CF39.

Now, I won't use 4.8.1 anymore but just 4.7.2 version until Phocus is released (assuming focus doesn't have the multishot problem that 4.8.1 has).

Thanks for helping out Steve!
