Upgrade Photoshop to CS3

I had a box of Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it contain Photoshop CS2, recently the CS2 no longer support the Canon 40D for RAW conversions. When I plan to upgrade to my Photoshop CS2 to 3, told by the shop because my Photoshop is under Creative Suite 2 that I can’t just upgrade the Photoshop alone, must upgrade the complete suite, this will cost a lot of buck since I’m mainly use the Photoshop most.

Could anyone can tell me ho to deal with the situration. Thanks.

Yep, that's right. Adobe considers the Photoshop in Creative Suite an entirely different application than Photoshop not in the suite. It's both annoying and confusing. You'll need to either upgrade your version of CS to CS3, or go get a whole new independent Photoshop license. I ended up taking the second option, because I got an incredible education discount.

Thank you for your reply, I brought the Bibble Pro for my RAW conversation and the photoshop remain as CS2.

Well, now I feel bad. I should have told you the trick for dealing with the 40D in older version of Photoshop. If you go to the Adobe web site, you can download the latest version of their free DNG Converter, which reads 40D files just fine. Then you can use the converter to turn a whole folder of CR2 files into DNG files, or just make DNG copies of the originals. Older versions of Adobe Camera Raw can read the DNG files with no problem. So you can still use newer camera files with older versions of Photoshop without buying anything.

Hi Thank you for your info, anyhow, I'm very happy with the Bibble Pro, they provide more features than the ACR other than conversation, Thank you again for your kind concern.
