ACR workflow settings: no presets or way change?

The workflow settings in ACR.
Tell me I'm wrong, but to change them  you need to actually open up an image in ACR, go to the dropdowns and make changes and then hit done button.

There is no way to change them outside of this, or even see what the current settings are that need to be changed?

And, at this stage, there is still no way to save various formulas or presets for different projects, ie one set for hi rez, at 16 bit, adobe rgb, and another set for web at srgb , 8 bit, 72 res? you still have to manually go through all motions each and every time? thanks.

You should be using an action for custom sizes and color spaces for small web jpegs, etc. ACR has a very limited number of camera-dependent output sizes all of which are too large for web JPEGs. An action allows you to use plug-ins and other tools for sharpening, noise reduction, etc.

It's exactly on point, as you can't do what you're looking for within ACR. An action is the only way to do what you want. ACR doesn't allow arbitrary output sizes, and color space and DPI setting are whatever you set last, regardless of camera or conversion settings stored with a RAW. You can't set a batch of images and convert some to 800-pixel sRGB JPEGs and others to full-res ProPhoto 16-bit TIFFs. The best way to do it is to leave ACR's output setting to 16-bit ProPhoto and run an action set to resize, sharpen and convert to the desired output color space. You simply cannot do what you're looking for with ACR alone.
