« on: October 28, 2007, 05:15:16 pm »

Hi All

Anybody out there considering getting a Nikon D3 for fashion photography? I currently shoot D2Xs and Mamiya 645AFDII but could use a new DSLR..... or hope that the prices on D2Xs will drop soon......

Cheers

Was it you I was trying to put off MF ?

I think the D3 will be the business for 'fashion'

My vision and I have an upcoming shoot is to do the volume with the D3 and the 'lead shots' with my blad

I hope it arrives on time -unlikely

WHile I would say that you can shoot a great fashion image with a D40 or 400D or D2x or a Lomo or an IXUS  I think the D3 will be a major step on from the D2x

-full frame and that will make the 'product' (model and clothes) ping off the background

-useable to 800 ISO I am guessing

I dont think the D2x is usable off base ISO (IMO)
