IDS Mark II Battery Question
« on: September 12, 2007, 02:24:08 am »

I purchased an extra battery when I bought my 1DS Mark II and unfortunately I have mixed the 2 of them up and I am not sure which one is the extra battery I bought and which one came with the camera.

I was wondering if there might be any method to figure out which battery is which using serial numbers or otherwise?

I purchased several batteries and found no way to distinguish them. Serial numbers don't seem to offer any clue. I marked them with a permanent pen, the only difference that I can see is that the original one is the one that drains faster than the others.

I have 2 batterys the markings on the battery are 0S0700 and 0S0800 I don't think these are serial numbers, if so it would be a bit coincidental if they were 100 apart. Anyway 0S0700 came with the camera.

I agree, those numbers are probably only production information and not individual serial numbers.

Is there any particular reason why you'd want to know? I brought a back up battery and never thought twice about which was which--as long as they where charged up.
