Canon Wireless Transmitter WFT-E2

Anyone using the transmitter with 1D MK3 & OS X 10.4? Can't get the FTP mode configured to an outside ftp server (ie. ftp://photo.net/user) I can get FTP setting set up locally on laptop, but that's what PTP is for. Is this possible? The manual isn't much help when it comes to Mac users.
