Sticking zoom on Canon 18-55 EF-S
« on: June 23, 2007, 08:22:17 pm »

The zoom on my Canon 17-55 EF-S IS is starting to stick. This is my main walk around lens and I am a little worried about it. Sometimes I have to soom in a bit to get it to zoom back out. Any suggestion? Is there a way to lubricate it without damaging it, or do I need to send it in for service?

Thanks.

{edited: Its a 17-55, not 18-55}

Well, I wouldn't say nest to nothing ($1000). This is the IS version not the kit lens (I just realized its 17-55, thats probably what threw you off.) Anyone ever sent a lens in for repair for this?

Thanks for any help
