Cape Hateras National Seashore: tips?
« on: June 21, 2007, 07:54:03 pm »

I'm heading off for a week at the beach in Nags Head and hope to steal away for a day to the Cape Hateras National Seashore to see what I can capture.  Any tips on that area?  Thanks, David

You  might enjoy taking the ferry over to Ocracoke Island--to the south of Cape Hatteras--go into the village and park and walk around--I'm sure you will see the wild ponies also.  I'm not sure of waterfowl this time of year--but its worth a try.  There will be lots of information about the various preserves.  Of course there's the lighthouse--and a quite different one on Ocracoke.  There are a number of small villages ---but so much has become much more commercial outside the actual National Seashore.
