Has anyone had any success with consistent loading of deckle edge papers with the Z3100? I called HP and they said Deckle? Don't know him.

As I understand it HP is checking solutions to make that possible. At least in a survey they asked what kind of deckled paper has been used by customers. It will take a while till that is implanted I guess. Better use the extra sheet or find other methods to fool the sensor.
I personally would welcome an extra loading method where you load the paper, and the firmware says right away to align to the blue lines without trying to do the job itself. Bring in a wider tolerance on the sensor measurements. The user then can stick some wide registration tabs at the blue lines to align the paper to. Or with heavy deckles a transparant overlay with marks at that point. The way you deal with it in the litho or silkscreen process.
