Epson R3800 Gray Curves for B&W prints

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Dear Printing Friends,
I would like to recommend Eric Chan's gray curves that he has offered on his website, for Black and White printing with the Epson R3800 printer. I printed a print yesterday, on Epson Premium Lustre paper, of size 8x11, and did not use a gray curve and used the Epson Advanced B&W driver(not photoshop driving the colors but the printer). I was very pleased with my results, really excellent.
I then printed today a 5x7, same image, no adjustments other than to apply Eric's proper gray curve(depends on your working space) and then printed it off following Eric's guidelines in using the paper I used, Red River Ultrapro Satin(closest thing to Epson Premium Lustre, which Eric has not had time to measure out for a gray curve). I found that Eric's gray curve improved my image especially in terms of my shadow areas, and it enhanced my print. The difference was subtle, yes, but I find it very nice.
I want to thank Eric for these curves; you can find his curves here, with instructions to use them:

Thank you, Debra[/span]
