Backup on Import
« on: May 12, 2007, 05:15:44 pm »

When importing from a CF card I rename files as:

CustomText YYYY MM DD 0XX

I select the optioin to backup the files as imported.  To my horror, I find:

1.  The backed up files get put into a sub-folder identified by the date -- not in the folder I specify.

2.  They retain the file names from the CF card and ignore my file name instructions.

All of this is, of course, unacceptable.  The backup now becomes meaningless.  In just a short time, the only way to make any sense out of the backed up files will to remember a lot about them when they were shot.  I really can't believe what I have discovered.

They can't even be exported as *.CR2 files from LR to the proper folder.  All I can do is use something like My Computer to copy the files.  This ain't backup!

Does anyone know of some way to make the backup files reside in the specified folder?

How can I make the file names of the backed up files be the names I specify?
