Image size for projection?
« on: April 16, 2007, 04:42:27 pm »

I have a group of images I wish to project in a slide show.  What size should they be in inches?

What resolution is best?  Should the images be chnged to jpeg's from my usual psd files?

Thanks for any help or direction to sources of information.

forget size in inches.  The projector will have a size in pixels - most often 1024x768, but check what yours is.

Resize the images to this pixel resolution.

You will probably need to set the image colour space to SRGB.

for the fastest projection speed save as best quality JPG.

You need to test what the images look like.  You may need to apply some sharpening, but you need to do this carefully for best results.

Does depend on your intended projector or means of display. If you are using something capable of displaying HD TV then I would suggest resizing to 1920x1080 pixels, ie max 1080 pixels vertically or 1920 pixels horizontally, whichever gives the smaller picture, and save as JPEG at max quality. Seems to work great.

Interesting to note your occasional appearance on this forum, Samir.

I take it you have bought yourself a magnificant 55" Plasma or LCD display capable of true HD, right?
