wireless firewire port converter question
« on: March 04, 2007, 10:36:04 am »

Is there an affordable device that would enable wireless transmission form a dslr firewire port to computer - i.e. get rid of the wires?  Is anything fast enough?

The wireless firewire specification was approved back in 2004, but so far there dont seem to be any products on the market.

The Canon wireless product seems to be a Firewire/Ethernet/wi-fi tripple rather than true wireless wirewire.

Looks like wireless USB is making more progress, although still no products on market.

We have wireless USB 2.0 now so why still no Firewire 5 years after the standard was approved?
