Can I view LT tutorial Hi res on Epson 2000?
« on: February 25, 2007, 08:15:03 am »

i downloaded the first 3 tutorials and copied them on my Epson 2000, as I would like to view them during a 10 day fotosafari....
It says it doesn't support the format.
Anuone knows if this is possible at all?

Alternative could be to put it on my ipod, but that is a whole different format. Isn't it?

How do I make the video tutorials viewable on either of my devices (Epson viewer or Ipod)?

Thx, Giedo

The tutorials, as well as current and future Video Journal downloads are in Quicktime format. The P2000 doesn't support this. You might be able to convert the files to something that the P2000 can view, but that's up to you.

Purchasers can also download at no additional charge an Ipod native version of the tutorials.

Just return to the store, sign in, and click on the Ipod version of the tutorial. You'll be presented with the option to download those files.

Search around a bit. It's easy to find.

You can also use the Quicktime player to convert movies to other formats that will play on the P2000.  I've done this with some other instructional movies and they looked great on the Epson screen.

I guess you need Quicktime Pro for that feature. Normal Quicktime cn't do the job for me.

I must be silly, but I can't get the ipod download without buying them again. I just get presented the option of downloading high res version....
Or do I just add it to my cart again and go to checkout?!
Hope I'm not too much trouble, but I just can't figure it out.

Thx, Giedo

Just a hint (valid if you have diligently saved the eMail  sent to you by LL):

go and see the e-mail sent to you as acknowledgment of your purchase (in my case was sent by Steven Sauve): there you will find the detailed instructions and the "coupon" (there's the trick!) on how to do it for free (100% discount).

I have not tried it because I don't own an iPod, but I hope my suggestion will help you.

Thank you Franco! That's it!
I never took a look at that email because I didn't know anyone by that name so suggested it had to be spam... luckily it was still in my folder.

Giedo,
You may want to try iSquint. It's free and doesn't require QuickTime Pro.

Here are the settings that worked for me using iSquint to convert the LR tutorial videos for use with the Epson P-2000:

- drag and drop the QT video on to iSquint
- choose your destination directory
- set to Optimize for TV screen, Highest Quality (you may try Standard first)
- under the Advanced settings drawer, set framerate to 15 fps, Audio Bitrate to 96 kbs and Audio Hz to 22050 Hz, leaving everything else as is

Then convert (takes a while!), upload to P-2000 and enjoy... !

Cheers
