CMS and macOS 27 (Golden Gate)

Printing without color management in i1Profile works and matches the last OS.
Printing with color management in Photoshop 2026 using the same profile in the last and newest OS match.
It seems this new OS works fine with the Epson P800 and 900 with color management.
EDIT: The ColorSync Utility correctly prints without color management in macOS 27 as it did in the past (Print as Target).

Good to know, It is an important OS,  for it is the last one to support Intel based apps through Rosetta II
I have 3 computers that can manage using OSX6 till OSX 12.
My new one will be a computer that can handle OSX 27.
I still need OSX6 for some programs

Multiple reports on dpreview that Epson Print and Layout CMS is broken under OS X 27.
EPL is an app which a lot of people with pro Epson printers -8550, P700, P900 and above - now use daily for profiled printing.
Consensus seems to be: DO NOT UPDATE YET.

EPL 1.5.16 under macOS 27 is indeed broken, both the soft proof and the output. It appears the software is using an Absolute Colorimetric intent instead of the one I selected (RelCol). I see a "scum dot" on the soft proof and output. If I use Perceptual RI instead, the soft proof and output is fine.

Oh dear…

Why do we have to keep having to suffer these problems with colour management and Apple ?  It’s been going-on for years now.  Every time we get a new Mac OS update hundreds of photographers and graphic designers hold their breath waiting to see if their applications and colour management will still be working after installing.  Me, I'm waiting…

There is as yet no evidence that the one bug (EPL) is an Apple bug. It is a bit odd that the profile RI behaves this way.
As for the other main OS, it's been just awful at color management support for decades. Windows 11 is no different.

Crossing my fingers for Canon's Professional Print & Layout.

I am one of those who can't stop myself from downloading the latest...!

Everything that I find important seems to be working fine, I use CPP&L and all seems fine in terms of colour...
However, and it is not the end of the world for me, Canon Accounting Manager does not work. (I use it to double-check the length of paper I have used at the end of a big print job)

What I have also noticed is that the Canon driver in Lightroom and Photoshop works better. None of the settings "stuck", previously including "Presets" - now they work.

One thing I have learned to do is to remove the Canon driver in System Settings before I download the new OS, then re-download and install it afterwards...

I have just made a print out of Lightroom and it was fine!
