I have been an Affinity user for a few years (Designer and Publisher, but not Photo) and have been using LR Classic for my photo needs.
Over the years I have found that keywording is less and less important but softproofing and adjustments without having to go back and forth between apps is becoming more so.
So I was very happy with the status quo until Adobe decided to hike my subscription by 50%. They're not the only ones: Microsoft has done the same thing to pay for a barely usable AI that nobody asked for!
So I looked at migrating away from the Adobe ecosystem. With now even Apple Photo (shock horror!) offering AI enhancements for free, the value of LR is definitely going down. The historically clunky catalog interface brings very little and it increasingly feels like a product with layer upon layer of added features with no redesign since day one. The Canva account (assuming I want AI) is cheaper than my original LR subscription.
Problem: exporting into Affinity is slow and space consuming. I can't find a way to export a DNG (even with embedded meta data) that takes account of my edits. The only thing that works are TIFF files...
Has anyone switched to Affinity for their photo workflow? Any words of wisdom appreciated!
