Enough to make me want to throw away my iPhone, go back to bed and do like the bears for the next few months. How I wish I’d settled in Rome!

;-(

Breaking Leica's monopoly: Ricoh releases GR IV Mono.

As with the rest of the range, an interesting idea, but as far as I can gather, even from “ambassador” videos, they tend to be pretty poorly built, somewhat fragile machines with frequent control failures. Not anything to encourage purchase in a backwoods area like northern Mallorca, where a visit to a remaining camera dealer in Palma demands more energy than I can or care to muster!

When it comes down to it, my old iPhone 13 Mini seems more than enough for whatever it is that I do these days. As I was wandering through the port today, trying not to get myself run over, my mind was thinking about alternative things I might have enjoyed doing in my life. Not for the first time I found myself wishing I had had the skills to work on cars, soup them up and do great paint jobs on them. Felt much like my other sometimes dreams of being a boogie woogie pianist or even a guitarist - without the musical ability to be either. ;-(

In retrospect, I see that’s not a unique situation: my daughter once told me that she had asked a kid in her class, about to leave school, what he wanted to do. He said “to be famous”. Not a lot she could offer in response…

Yes, build quality and reliability do seem to be a problem.

Perhaps an air ticket to Italy would be a better buy?
