I tried to get moonrise photos on Saturday evening but it was too cloudy and I just got rained on.
So Sunday I tried again although the moon rising 10 minutes after sunset would increase the difficulty level. Low clouds to the east delayed its appearance even longer but I managed to catch a few photos from a nice quiet spot off an old logging road that I drove my truck up to.
Dynamic range was too high to do this with a single exposure like I prefer so this is two blended shots.
The haze is from wildfires still burning to the west. The W is the largest collegiate symbol in the world (or something like that) and represents my alma mater Western Colorado University (formerly Western State College).
