New ICC profiles in my print dialog that I didn't load

A bunch of novice questions here. Would appreciate answers and guidance.

I have noticed a whole bunch of ICC profiles in my print dialog that I didn't ask for, don't use and would like to get rid of (some screen shots attached).
1. Did these profiles get loaded from Adobe Photoshop updates? What is the source and how can I avoid getting them? How can I delete them if there are not in my Colorsynch>Profiles folder?
2. Since I have 2 printers and print on a few papers, is there a way on the Mac using Ventura to have a set of favorites so that I don't have to scroll through all the profiles and my favorites are in a folder or bunched together?
3. Can I change the name of the ICC profile so it means something e.g. GPSGP12_EPSpro3880_PGPPn.icc to Ilford_Gallerie_Pres_Smth_Glos_3880 and load it to the profile folder and still appear on my icc choices (seems logical that I should be able to but it does not appear on my ICC choices when I try to print)
4. IS there a search function that I can search for the profiles instead of scrolling through many of them?
I realize that I may be whining but it can be irritating to see so many profiles all cryptically named and get to the right one.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Hi, answers might depend on your system / OS / apps / printer models...

In Windows land all ICC profile files end up in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color. I dunno whatsit in Mac land. If they're in there and you didn't add them yourself manually then some app added them. You can delete them if you want, but it's possible that app will put them back again later.

ICC profile files have an internal description field, which is what is displayed in apps. You can see it by opening one in a text editor, it'll be near the top. Unfortunately the description name often doesn't match the filename. I think there are ICC file tools out there that let you change those descriptive names..., I've probably used one but can't recall what right now.

Adding/deleting ICC files should be reflected in apps like Photoshop the next time you start them.

I occasionally prune ICC files if I know where they came from and I don't need them. Usually it's outdated profiles that I made myself. But leaving them there doesn't really hurt anything, they just make the list longer to scroll in apps.

You can locate all such profiles using the ColorSync utility. And rename them (each profile has two tags for this!).

The answer is Lightroom.
Go to other and put a check only beside the ones you use.
Now after selecting Photoshop manages Color only the shortlist shows. (The ones you checked)
I have well over 100 in my big list but only use about 30 with my 6 printers.
