Hi all,
I'm trying to completely remove starbursts from city lights and other light sources when shooting images at night. I realize that this requires to use larger apertures, and that the larger the aperture, the less stars I will get. However, are there other design features on lenses that will help in reducing the starbursts? My goal is to not have any starburst while also keeping the entire image in focus, so maybe there are other ways to achieve this that does not involve leaving the diaphragm wide open?
I've noticed that it doesn't seem to be a problem in movies. Perhaps because of the design of cinema lenses, but I'm not sure.
