Recommended 27 inch Monitor Resolution 2K or 4K?
« on: June 01, 2025, 12:49:09 am »

I am aware that color gamut, calibration, 10 bit etc are the primary considerations when selecting a monitor, and that resolution is generally considered a secondary concern.

That being said what are the pros and cons of 2k vs 4k on a 27 inch screen?

Any advantage when using high resolution cameras?
I understand that the UI on 4K can be more difficult to read and that they are more expensive.

Does the ability to zoom in more say to 150% or 200% for retouching and not have the image break up make a 4k monitor a better choice?

How good are your eyes?  How close to the screen are you going to be?  How much deskspace do you have available?

There's 3 levels to 27" screens - HD, QHD & UHD

Ignore the image, it's about what tools you want on the screen.  We can zoom in & out on images, but the menu bar in Photoshop isn't going to change sizes.  Those tools are going to dictate the resolution & screen size more than anything.
