Nothing earth shattering, just an enjoyable day out with my camera, my other half, a flask of hot tea and a family sized packet of dark chocolate digestive biscuits ;)

Does it get any better?

I don't think so  ;D

Nothing earth shattering, for you, maybe, Dave. But for me, both shots are excellent. I can't think of better places to enjoy a hot cup of tea and some biscuits.

Bravo and thanks again for sharing.

Hi Francois,

Glad you enjoyed the images so much and yes, I do agree, nothing earth shattering here for me perhaps, because I live here and so get to see views like this everyday. But for those who choose to visit here and travel thousands of miles from all across the world to get here, then yes this place is absolutely amazing and very photogenic.

It is just after living here on the Isle of Skye for over 14 years, you do get used to seeing it and perhaps begin to forget how beautiful it all is. Especially when compared to the concrete jungle, where I grew up and spent most of my working life.

So perhaps I should apologise and be more humble and recognise, just how truly lucky I am, to be able to see and photograph views like this on a daily basis  :)

No need to apologize at all. It's normal that locals are used to the landscape. It happens to all of us.

Dave, the tree on the island caught my eye,... wondering how it made it through many years in this wonderful landscape, and still sits proud and bold on "its" island.

Yes indeed. Which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

Good, because you have to be lucky enough to live here/there for many years, to reach this point of overexposure.

Bad, because it can start to lose its visual impact.

Good, because you get to know and understand, every nook and cranny and exactly where to go, depending on what the light is doing.

Bad, because everyone else wants to be here as well.

Good, because I don't have to travel to get here, as I am already here. In fact I have lots of shots, that I know I couldn't have got if I didn't live here and so have the chance to pop out and grab it while it is happening.

I could go on, but you get the gist  ;)

My pleasure kers  ;D

Not sure Leszek. Perhaps it is low enough to the water and also sits at the bottom of slight trough in the landscape and is sheltered by the side of a steep sided "Trotternish" ridge to its left, so that it gets enough shelter to hang on in there. But yes, that is a good question  :)

Thanks again everyone  ;)
