I have an F30 as well, and find it very useful for everyday snapshots. Fairly responsive, compact, a bit slippery though, but sturdy. EV compensation is fairly easy to use, but the A/S mode I have rarely touched yet. At most normal distances, dof is pretty deep anyway.
CA is rather bad in some cases though, it comes up at almost any high-contrast edge. I wonder if this varies per sample (although it is mentioned in reviews as a minus). If a cam comes out that addresses that problem it would be great.
It would seem that the current Internet-hyped majority of "photographers" do not crave any good compact though... either you have a P&S or you consider yourself DSLR-ready ... but that's why Michael keeps calling for a RAW-capable compact, I guess.
I believe one of the users here has an Olympus SP-350, which has RAW. Perhaps Olympus can help you out?
