Just Came Back From Lone Pine
« on: November 30, 2024, 11:43:09 pm »

A couple of images from this trip to Lone Pine just before Thanksgiving. The 1st 2 days you couldn't see the mountains at all and it was raining lightly and the morning I was going to go home I got a sunrise shot of Mt. Whitney and surrounding peaks and another vivid image of the lingering fall colors a couple of hours after sunrise.

Gorgeous. I like the 3D feel you get from the layers moving back into the image.

Stunning views. The cold white snow on the peaks is even more impressive with the autumnal colors of the foreground rocks and vegetation.

Beautiful pictures, both. I particularly like the second one. (Though it does look a little over-sharpened to me.)

On my monitor it does not look over sharpened. Depends on how you are viewing it I guess.

Maybe so. The other one looks fine in that regard. At any rate, a minor thing in an outstanding image.
