Monitor for Mac Mini M4
« on: November 09, 2024, 04:29:21 pm »

Looking for recommendations for a monitor for a new Mac Mini M4. Amazingly I'm still using a NEC 2690 WUXI on my PC purchased 16 years ago! 1920x1200 resolution. Still is working order and color is still good. I'm going to try a USB-C to DVI cable to see if it will work with the new mac, but am planning to replace it fairly soon. It can't have many hours left on it.
Do I need 4K for photo editing?
My budget is about $500-700 this time around, I see Dell, BENQ and Viewsonic have decent 27" IPS panels in my budget.
Any recommendations that will not break the bank.
I might go for the BenQ PhotoVue SW272Q 27" 1440p HDR Monitor, it's a stretch for my budget, it's a 2560 x 1440 monitor, and 99% Adobe RGB.
Any Mac specific issues to watch out for when selecting monitor resolution?
