Which profile on Canon 8400?
« on: October 21, 2024, 10:18:33 am »

Thinking of using Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum on my 8400, but there are 4 different profiles listed for this paper in the "choose profiles" popup and they also are .icm profiles rather than .icc. They are in the image file attached. What's the significance of the <PT> and <PTN>? and the 1/2 vs 3? Which should I select if I get this paper? No obvious info on Canon site and no profiles to download as they're all supposed to be included with the printer software. All the .icc profiles have only 1 choice for each paper.

ICM is the Windows version of ICC.
PTN is the "new" Platinum paper profile. Use this one unless you're used to printing with the old "PT" profile.
1/2 and 3 correspond to the print quality on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being highest print quality. So "1/2" would be high print quality and "3" would be standard.
