Been a while, been on my travels..
Stumbled onto this view just the other day.
Never heard of these falls and didn't even know they existed. But the nice lady who's B&B we were staying at for just the one night, after seeing me carrying my gear into the room, mentioned that if I was into photography, I might like to visit these nearby falls and photograph them, so I did.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) the first time I visited the falls that evening, there was no one else there, except for a young lady, who was swimming around and exercising in the pool beneath the falls. And if I say she was wearing a 'small' bikini, I really would be doing a disservice to the word 'small', it was microscopic.
So I thought Mmmm, here's me, an old fart standing in the shadow of the woods looking into to falls area,
as that was the best place to take the shot in my opinion - as seen in the attached file. Thinking of taking a photograph of the falls, but who couldn't allow myself to do so, because there was a young scantily clad women already in it, who was pretty much revealing most of herself, as she started to do handstands in the water and a whole lot more. But who was totally unaware I was there and so would probably get me arrested and sent to jail for the rest of my life if I did -
I could almost hear the police sirens coming towards me in the distance. So immediately (yes immediately...) I gave up and hurried back to the car to tell the missus, who then went to have a look for herself and who came back just equally shocked, by the scantiness of the costume she was almost wearing, as well as what she was doing in the pool at the bottom of the falls.
So early next morning, I went back to get this shot when no one else was there. But then as I was packing up my kit to go, another photographer arrived on the scene and so I told him the story. And how I decided that there was no way I could take a shot of the scene with her performing in it and so had to abandon the scene as quickly as I could. "I would have" he said, "I'd have filled several cards".
It reminds me of the old story:
A man decides to sunbathe naked in his own back garden, to get an all over tan. When his female next door neighbour looks over the fence and sees him. She reports him to the police and he is found guilty of indecently exposing himself. The next day she thinks, you know what, I would like to have a go at sunbathing naked and getting an all over tan. But the same male neighbour who is now cutting the grass, happens to look over the fence and sees her naked, so she reports him to the police again and this time, he is found guilty of being a peeping Tom...
