High desert monsoon sunset
« on: August 23, 2024, 03:19:55 pm »

It's been stormy here lately which is a good thing in general. We need the water and I like the sky drama and puddles. I've visited this location twice in the past week hoping for two things - puddles and an interesting sunset. The first visit only delivered the puddles. I tried again last night and got what I wanted as well as getting rained on pretty thoroughly. I think it was worth it!

Nice shot !
Just curious, did you post lighten the area with the lichens and the scrub bush/tree just left of the sunset ?

It was definitely worth it. You've captured a very compelling image.

Thanks! I lightened shadows and brought up the luminance of aqua (lichens) but didn't do anything brushed in, masking, or selections.

Thank you Arlen!
