Yea.it’s a real sad story about the Z9. I don’t know a single serious pro Art printmaker who uses one. They blew it. You are paying for all that internal calibration that is pretty much useless now that they dumbed it down. You’re better off ordering profiles from Chromix or someplace. They made a big deal about Wilhelm testing the new inks ( which compared to Epson and Canon have a poor gamut anyway) and that was like 2017. He never published any final results. Also the resolution compared to the new Epsons is a joke too. No way they compete with Canon even as a good poster printer.
I can’t believe how good my old Z3200 and Z3100s are. The are really slow and the dither and gamut are quite a bit behind the 9570 but they keep on chugging and my clients like the results. I still use them almost every day especially for bw on Platine, and the Z3100 is 16 years old.

My Z3200 became inoperable due to the inability to find replacement parts. I replaced it with a Z9 and am not happy with it. The Z3200 allowed me to print on a number of specialty papers, deckle edged, uncoated, that the Z9 cannot handle. So I'm looking for a replacement for this printer in reasonable working order. I'm surprised that HP offered up the Z9 as a replacement for the Z3200 since it is actually quite different. Please LMK if you know of any on offer in the USA.
