Photoshop says my disk is full, but it has plenty space
« on: July 13, 2024, 07:34:14 am »

A new problem that i have never encountered with photoshop.
it believes my work disk only has 4 Gb space while it has 1.2 TB space..  result is i cannot save to the disk.
Does anybody knows how to fix that?
the problem only arises in photoshop

I've never seen this, but the obvious (if you don't mind).  Are you absolutely sure the destination for your Save or Save As is the work disk?  2nd, how full is your Recycle/Trash?

Let's start with a reset of preferences to see if this fixes the issue.
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences on quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.

The obvious i already had covered- restarts does not fix it.  I will try with a new set of presets tomorrow...
My workspace is a 4disk nvme apple softraid0 of 4TB. I already had a problem opening PSB files in photoshop that took to long and started with 5 sec spinning pizza before they actually were opened...
Trim is supported on the nvme's but maybe it is a good idea to erase the raid once and fill it again.

It is solved: don't ask me how.
today it worked as normal- i have only reordered the workdisks ( to system disk first ) and restarted.
also opening is much faster: so i know what to do next time.
Thanks for responding!
